It’s tricky. James has obviously established something enormous. It’s an entire world that he’s built. Of course we’re following that. We are going to be focusing a bit more on Batman of Earth 2. I can’t tell you who he is, but we’re building on what James has created and we’re going where we’re going as well. It’s going to be big.

The first fan asked if Superman and Shazam will have an old-school brawl, and Johns teased that their short fight in the first issue of Trinity War was just the beginning. Lemire teased “we’ll see Shazam versus everyone, really.”
As for the other members of the “Marvel family,” Mary will get powers, and a name, soon, Johns promised.

While I have found some awesome t-shirts like the Doctor Fate one from above I still wish I could find the Sandman T. My guess is they made it for the show but if anyone has a clue of where to buy it… let me know.

Thoughts on Wednesday’s Book

I think I am going to like this Supergirl/Power Girl relationship (Supergirl #19).

Though there isn’t much of your classic JSA members in The Whistling Skull it’s a good read and Tony Harris has such gorgeous artwork.

In one panel Mary steals the show in “The Curse of Shazam” back-up in Justice League.


I’m not sure how I feel about Christy Marx’s run on Birds of Prey so far. Some of the dialogue feels a little forced. And something about this panel didn’t sit right. I’m not sure why. Maybe I will have some thoughts later. 

What were your thoughts on Wednesday’s books?

Gary Frank Talks More SHAZAM!

Not only did Gary Frank talk about “The Curse of SHAZAM!” with CBR but he also spoke with Newsarama. In that interview he lets us know we’ll be seeing both Marry and Freddie.

Mary and Freddie are there. Mary hasn’t changed much but we’ve had a little fun tweaking Freddie. There will be other kids, too, and I hope the readers will enjoy getting to know them.

It’s good to know Mary and Freddie will be around. I wonder if the other kids will be similar to those we saw in Flashpoint.

First Look at The Curse of SHAZAM

Newsarama has look at Geoff Johns and Gary Frank’s Justice League backup, “The Curse of SHAZAM.” Here is a exerpt from the article:

Johns verified that the book will include new takes on Billy, Mary, Freddie, Sivana, the Wizard and Black Adam. While the hero that Billy becomes was formerly called Captain Marvel, Billy’s heroic character will now be known as Shazam, and Frank told Newsarama he’ll get a new costume that reflects his magical origin.
