Nerdist has revealed that DC’s third weekly series premiering in October 2014 will be entitled, Earth 2: World’s End. The series will be written byTom Taylor, Paul Levitz, Daniel H. Wilson, Marguerite Bennet, and Mike Johnson. The art on the series will be provided by Eddy Barrows, Jorge Jimenez, Stephen Segovia, Paulo Siqeira, and Tyler Kirkham.
The above image by Ben Oliver shows that things aren’t going too well for Val, Power Girl, Batman, Huntress, Doctor Fate, and Green Lantern. For that matter Apokolips crushing the planet doesn’t bode well either.
Update: I just noticed that Batman is holding Huntress the same way Batman is holding Robin on the collected Batman: A Death in the Family (Jason Todd’s Death).
Do you think this will be in addition or in place of Earth 2 and Worlds’ Finest?

Comic Vine spoke with Tom Taylor about the current story arc in Earth 2. At the end of the interview Tom dropped a hint about a character’s return.

CV: Earth keeps getting trashed. Is there going to be much left of Earth for Batman and the other characters to have further adventures?
TT: I’m glad you’ve noticed that because that’s kind of how I feel. It’s like, “Man, things just keep blowing up. We’ve got to tone that down somehow.” So hopefully, someone who’s, perhaps, in tune with the Earth, will come back at some stage. And hopefully play a part. Who knows? Maybe they could something about that.

I can’t wait to see Green Lantern back on center stage. I hope Captain Steel makes his way to center stage as well.

According to Bleeding Cool, Earth 2 might be getting a weekly title along with Batman Eternal and The New 52: Future’s End. That is exciting news! What would you like to see in the weekly?
I’d love to see some world building especially with lesser known Golden Age characters.
