During “DC Comics: The New 52” panel at CCI topics of Earth 2, Hawkman, Shazam, and Darkseid were coverd. Here are a bunch of quotes from The Source, CBR, and Newsarama.
Newsarama covered a question asked about Earth 2.

Q: Back in the day with the original crisis the goal was to consolidate the DCU, by reopening Earth 2 are you worried you’ve recreated that situation
Johns: “Well it took them 25 years to create confusion, so we’re all right for now.” laughs from the crowd “No, I’m serious.”
He said he loves what Robinson is doing with the book and he’s “introducing the characters with such care”

On how Hawkman will be interacting with the rest of the DCU:
The Source

Savage Hawkman #0 is the culmination of the story that’s been told so far as Hawkman finds out the truth of why he has the Nth Metal and has to deal with the consequences of that news.

CBR:

Rob Liefeld gave a brief overview of “The Savage Hawkman” #0, saying “when he finds out the whole truth at the end of 0 and through 13, he’s a wanted felon throughout the galaxy, where Green Arrow, Deathstroke and Red Hood and some of the heavy hitters in the DC Universe” come across Hawkman’s path.

Newsarama:

Savage Hawkman #0 is “the culmination of what we’ve been doing all spring and summer” says Liefeld
"At the end of 0 and into 13 he finds out his truth, which is something he has to deal with the consequences of. he’s a wanted felon in the Universe, and Deathstroke, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Green Lantern, and others will be after him"

Shazam:
The Source:

Cyborg and Shazam will be “buddies” when he joins the team, acting a little irresponsibly being the two youngest members of the team. It’s also interesting also since it’s a pairing of magic and technology.

CBR:

Geoff Johns joined the panel for his two zero issues, “Justice League” and “Aquaman.” “We’ll get new members like Shazam in the second year. The first year was about who the team is,” and the second year is about the team becoming who they should be. Johns also praised artist Gary Frank’s work on the issue and that “Shazam gets his powers in [‘Justice League’ #0] and joins the team next year.”
Johns also said Cyborg and Shazam will become good friends and may have a little fun with their powers, perhaps irresponsibly. “I want to create a friendship like Hal and Barry had and Ted and Booster had.”

Newsarama:

"I’ve been getting a lot of great feedback on Gary Frank and Shazam, we’re doing a slightly different take on Billy Batson, but the whole point is finding the good inside"
"The old Billy Batson is so perfect, and striving to be that way is the more interesting story. #0 shows him get his powers, and he’ll join the team next year"
"As for Cyborg being on, he represents communication and technology, he’s a human boom tube now. He’s caught in the digital age, he can’t unplug. He and Shazam are actually going to be buddies because of their age; they have a lot of fun together, let kids have some fun with their powers, maybe a little irresponsibly. I want to create a friendship like Hal and Barry had and Ted and Booster had, that mixture of Magic and Technology. Even though Shazam can’t high-five Cyborg because when he does the first time he short circuits his armor."
Q: Do you think SHAZAM could get a solo book?Johns: “If you guys want a solo SHAZAM book, I’m sure it’ll happen.”

Darkseid:
CBR:

Johns confirmed that there’s only one Darkseid in the New 52. “It’s the same exact Darkseid [in ‘Earth 2’ as in ‘Justice League’]. There’s only one Darkseid.”
